November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month so the team at Primalvore made a special visit to Rusty’s Animal Sanctuary near Phoenix, AZ to deliver some organic bone broth and get some senior dog loving!
Rusty’s Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe and caring environment for senior and special needs canines. Through rescue, foster, adoption, education and hospice; they create secure nurturing homes for them to live out their twilight years.
We asked Emilee, the founder of Rusty’s, why people should adopt senior dogs:
There are many benefits to adopting a senior dog, but the most important of all of them is the companionship that a senior dog brings, it is like no other love. For anyone looking for a companion, senior dogs by far are the best at providing that kind of love.
One of the things I have learned from rescuing senior dogs is our heart’s capacity to love. Each and every senior dog we have helped has filled my heart with so much love. I think that everyone at some point in their life should get to experience this type of love. It will certainly be life changing and the most rewarding experience they will ever have.
Spending the afternoon at Rusty’s included a lot of ear scratching, belly rubs and helping out at meal time (now with Primalvore Bone Broth)! We hope you will consider a senior next time you are looking to add a pup to your family.
